Some of the really nice homes we’ve been exploring have marvelous bathrooms. I remember one homes tour that featured a home that had a bathroom bigger than my living room, with a huge marble sunken tub in the middle of the room and a skylight over head. But lately the newest thing in high end bathrooms are the vessel sinks and vessel faucets made out of unique materials, such stone sinks, glass sinks and copper sinks.
The variety of materials, colors and shapes of the vessel sinks is amazing. You can choose granite in a rainbow of colors, or a marble that will match or contrast with marble flooring or tiles in the shower surround. You can go with glass in brilliants colors and unique patterns, or copper with its beautiful aging patina. We actually saw quite a few stone sinks on the driving tour, but I was most impressed with a home featuring his and her bathrooms and the man’s bathroom had dark marble tiles with copper fixtures. It was very manly and classy.
After we got home, my wife showed me the www.edenbath.com web site to get some ideas of what we can do with our own master bath. We have been planning our renovations to happen in phases. We have already done the main bathroom and it turned out great. But the master bathroom can be totally different and we are looking for ideas as part of the planning stages.
