When we had the big hailstorm in March, my neighborhood was slammed the next two weeks with door to door salesmen trying to get us to hire the roofing repair company they were working for. The hail was about the size of walnuts and although it only lasted about 20 minutes, it did a lot of damage to the roofs and also the vinyl siding on most of the houses on my street. Thankfully, we didn’t have a problem with either of our cars being damaged.
That wasn’t the case for my sister-in-law who lives in Austin. They had a hail storm a couple of weeks ago and the hail was as big as baseballs. That Texas hailstorm did break out people’s car windows as well as damaging the roofs and vinyl siding of their homes. Elaine had the windshield of her car cracked by the hail storm and had to get it fixed quickly – her only car was not driveable. She’s a nurse and can’t miss work to deal with getting the windshield fixed.
She found a company that offers same day car window replacement in Austin, and even though they had a lot of calls after the hail storm, when she explained to them that she is a nurse, they sent someone right over so she didn’t have to miss her shift at the hospital.
